He gets along well with other dogs and with women. Monty will come and take treats from your hand ever so gently. He loves his human and is very smart. He listens well and has learned some commands:  Monty knows Sit, Easy, and Down.

He's working on house training and leash training and is starting to get the hang of both these activities. Monty is mostly house trained, and with a very regular schedule he can be accident free. Monty is crate trained, but he has fear issues regarding his crate and would prefer not to be crated, If he is crated, his human needs to be very patient with him about coming out of the crate.

Because he can climb a gate or fence, Monty needs to be closely supervised when he is outside in the yard. He isn’t afraid of thunder or other loud noises, but he doesn’t react well to being startled, and he doesn’t like to be picked up. He does well with grooming: He is relaxed and will doze off.

Monty needs to continue his daily walks. He will need a strong, loving owner (preferably female) who will set limits and let Montel know who is in charge.  He wants someone to love and will be a wonderful dog with the right person. He'd also like someone who is home much of the day. He enjoys a fenced back yard where he can explore and would love a dog sibling to spend his time with.
