Bella and Zack, a brother and sister fostered in Washington, are actively looking for their forever family. These two exude Havanese charm galore. We think it's best to let them speak for themselves, so please take a look at their letters to the public.

BellaHi, my name is Bella, and I am a 6-year-old spayed female Havanese. I like to be the center of attention and always in the middle of things, especially if treats are being handed out! My brother, Zack, knows I am the queen bee and he lets me be alpha dog, which suits me just fine. He's taught me a few things, too, like lifting my leg when I pee! That makes my foster mom smile every time she sees me do it. I'm very protective of my foster yard and foster people. I like to bark to let everyone know I am in town and to warn them not to mess with Zack or me. My foster mom is working with me to feel more confident so I don't have to bark at everything that scares me. I slept right next to her last night for the first time, and like to sleep on the sofa cushion behind her head when we are on the sofa. I would like to find a person who is home most of the time and someone who likes to go for walks. I would like someone who will continue to help me feel confident and to become the sweet, loving Havanese I was meant to be. I would like to be adopted with my brother, Zack, because I think he would be lost without me.

Hi, my name is Zack, and my motto is "Life is good!" I am an easy-going, friendly 7-year-old neutered male Havanese. So far, I haven't met an adult, child, dog, or cat I don't like! I love to eat, and my foster mom gives Zachme mini carrots and apple slices as a special treat--I love those! She is teaching me a bit of patience when presented with food or treats, which is hard for me, because I am so eager to get at whatever is being offered! I am in great health and love a good, long walk. I like the sunshine, wind in my face, and even the rain, unlike my sister Bella, who has to be asked, repeatedly, to go out in the rain. I love snacking on the fresh spring grass in our neighborhood. My foster mom calls me her little goat, which I am not sure is a compliment! She also says I might have a bit of dachshund in me, because I am long and lean, but I prefer to think of myself as a super model--you know, tall and thin, only sideways! I have a couple of soft stuffed toys that I carry everywhere with me, and when I stop, I lie down and use them as a pillow! My foster mom tells me I look very cute when I do that! I like to sleep up on the bed at night now that I am comfortable in my foster home. I would like to find a person who is home most of the time and someone who likes to be outside and go for walks, even in the rain! I would like to be adopted with my sister, Bella, because we've been together all our lives and she looks out for me, and me for her.

Bella and Zack are being fostered in Washington.

A donation will be requested to adopt these dogs. The recommended donation amount will be based on the dog's age, and medical and behavioral issues, if any.  A completed application is required if you are interested in adoption. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!
