Constant Companions
We Havanese are often described as "Velcro dogs" because of our intense desire to be with our "humans" at all times. Havanese are companion dogs, specifically bred to enjoy spending nearly all our time with you. We will be very unhappy and stressed if we are left alone, sometimes even for short periods. If we're anxious about the lack of companionship with our family we will suffer from loneliness and may exhibit separation anxiety when left alone. We might engage in: nuisance barking; chewing and digging floors, furniture, and walls; and soiling the house.
Are you, or is someone in your family, at home the majority of the time to provide the companionship a Havanese requires? And you will enjoy having our company each time you go to the bathroom, won't you?
