Chewy is an 8-month-old, happy, well-adjusted “silky” male Havanese. He is a playful, funny, intelligent and responsive little 7.5-pound love bug. He answers to his name and is eager to please for those special “rewards.”

Chewy is very energetic and loves to play, especially with other dogs. His favorite play is fetch and nosing out hidden treats.

Chewy sleeps through the night with zero “accidents.” He is nearly house broken but will have “accidents” if not walked regularly. He hasn’t yet learned to let someone know when he needs to go out. But he is learning.  

Chewy enjoys training sessions and has learned such basic things as come, sit, and lie down. His most useful training is “leave it” which means stop what you are doing and come to me for a “yes, good boy” and a treat. This command usually stops him from barking, chewing or other unwanted activities.

Chewy, not unlike other puppies, is fearful of strange or otherwise new noises, timid around strangers, and new things. Chewy barks at most dogs on TV. Maybe because Chewy loves going to doggy day care where he can play with other dogs and comes home totally spent!

He loves walks, food, toys and sleeping with the people he loves between their pillows at night.

Chewy is being fostered in Florida.

A fee will be requested to adopt this dog. The recommended fee amount will be based on the dog's age, and medical and behavioral issues, if any. 

A completed application is required if you are interested in adoption.
