Ducky seems to learn very quickly and tries to please. He is great with children and loves being part of the family. He’s happy being with people all day long. Ducky loves to cuddle and will quickly fill any vacant lap! He also will curl up on the sofa or the rug and watch the activity around him. He enjoys playing with toys and loves it when people play fetch with him. Ducky walks well on a leash. and enjoys being out with his family. Ducky 1

Ducky is generally quiet and will approach strangers and other dogs in a slow manner. However, with about 10% of dogs and people, he will start barking very loudly at them, and his foster mom has to work hard to quiet him down. If he is doing that to a friend, she gives them a treat to hand him, and the barking usually stops on the spot. Ducky will continue to work on this behavior. Ducky seems to be mostly house trained, though he still has one accident a day.

At night, Ducky has been sleeping in a large crate which contains his dog bed. He’s happy with this situation as long as someone is in the room with him. In the morning, he excitedly greets his family by jumping and sometimes nips in his excitement.

Ducky has separation anxiety and scratches at the door and whines and barks when he’s left alone for even a few minutes. His foster family is working with him on this, but he will likely need a family where someone is home much of the time.

Ducky, who needs a patient, experienced home with someone home most of the time as he suffers from separation anxiety, is in his foster-to-adopt home, meaning he may be staying with his foster family.
