Allen_profile_picWith his tail up and wagging, Allen wants everyone to know how happy he is as he runs and plays in the backyard with his foster brothers. Allen is a very smart boy too, and thinks he has done a great job training his foster mom and dad to get his treats when he wants them!

Allen is a very handsome almost 4 year old white Havanese, and weighs about 12 pounds. Allen knows what the word 'treat' means. He's also figured out that after his dinner he gets one. So, after he eats and while his foster mom is eating her dinner, he tries to get her attention and lead her to the treat stash. If his foster mom gets up for a drink of water for instance, he starts quickly trotting toward the treats, looking over his shoulder to see Allen_prayingif she is following. This goes on the entire meal until it's time for treats! His foster mom says he has learned some commands and knows words like 'breakfast, eat, treat, stay', and many others. Allen is definitely a smart guy.

Allen does very well on a leash, and is doing very well with his housebreaking. He desperately wants to be loved, and loves to

be cuddled and petted. Allen is very sweet, lying very close to his foster mom or dad on the sofa, resting his head on a knee. He loves to be petted and loved. Allen loves to get up on the back of the stuffed chair in his home next to one of his foster brothers, and lay his head on them and sleep. His foster mom says it's very sweet to watch. He is also starting to play with toys, and a few of his favorites is one that makes crinkly noises he really likes, and another he likes to sniff, bite, and snuggle with.

Allen had a difficult past and lived many years in a crate, so he doesn't care for them much at all. He's slowly learning people can be kind and loving, and his confidence and trust has been growing leaps and bounds.

His wish list in a forever home would be to have at least one dog to show him the ropes and play with him. His foster brothers have taught him a loving home, lots of treats, and gentle hands and kisses are a good thing, along with lots of lap time of course! He will want a fenced in yard to run and play with his buddies. Children over the age of 12 would be fine. He likes men and women equally. He has had no experience with cats. He'd like at least one person home most of the day as well.Allen_relaxing

Allen will need a family with patience, love, and time to help him in his journey to trust people and to continue building confidence. Allen will make a wonderful, loving companion for some lucky family.  In fact, his foster mom caught him praying for his perfect forever home.
