What if... What if...late one Saturday night the phone rang in the home of an HRI volunteer? What if...a small shelter was asking for help with six Havanese Bichon mix dogs, left there earlier in the day? They arrived in a single cat carrier in the back of a pick-up. 	Available for Adoption TROOPER earns his "Nebraska State Patrol" Badge Meet this smart, happy & thriving 4 ½ yr old neutered male who was turned into a Shelter when his owner developed health problems.      His exteme fearfulness of men is diminishing, but Trooper’s preference might be to hook up with a single woman (no children) and if she had a small dog(s) that would be fine, too! If she has a male friend who is patient and loving and willing to give Trooper some time to warm up, she can keep her man, too.    Read more...   Charming Little Mickey   This 14 month old little boy will charm his way into your heart!  Mickey is generous with his kisses once he gets to know you. He loves to play with squeaky toys.   Mickey is a very cute 15 pound silver and black Havanese looking for an adult home without young children. He would enjoy a smaller dog pal to hang out with, but will be happy with human attention from you even if he doesn't have another small dog with whom to play. Read more...   Mellow Belle - Such a Cutie Belle is a 5 year sweetheart, ready for her forever home. She loves being pet, especially having her ears, chest and tummy rubbed. This little girl also loves to be brushed! Belle is very shy and take a little time to warm up in new situations. She enjoys the company of another dog. Her mellow personality helped her fit right into the 3 dog pack of her foster family. Read more...   Missy sees a bright future     Missy, age 3, is seeing a whole new world since coming to HRI, when she had surgery to remove cataracts from both eyes.  The surgery was wonderfully successful and Missy is now able to see! She has become a very playful, affectionate young lady, at a mere 14 lbs. She loves toys and running, going for long walks, and would love the chance to chase squirels... Missy seems to be making up for lost time in her early life! At the end of th day this "love sponge" wants nothing more than a lap to sit on and a hand petting her silky, soft hair.
