BoomerSmFaceBoomer is a gorgeous 4-year-old Havanese mix that is 18.5 pounds and still has that great happy puppy personality. His peaches and cream coat is so soft and fluffy and easy to comb. Boomer loves to be around his people and does not like to be left alone for too long. He will do well in a home that has older respectful children and someone who is home most of the day.  Look for him in the 2014 Rescue Calendar coming out in October!

Boomer2Boomer is currently in a home with two other Havanese. He loves his foster sisters but will also do well as an only dog. His favorite activity is walking. Boomer will walk FOREVER. If you like walking, he will make the perfect companion. He does extremely well on a lead and does not stop for anything. He also loves car rides and is a great traveling companion. Boomer’s favorite toy is his towel. He will drag it over to you and “ask” you to take it so he can play a game of tug-o-war.

Boomer is crate trained and loves to sleep with his crate covered up with a blanket. He will actually “ask” to be put to bed when he’s sleepy. He also loves his fenced in backyard. He is trained to potty outside and will bark to let you know when he needs out.

Boomer is a very vocal dog. He will let you know when he wants to play, sleep, eat, or if someone is approaching the house. He also “sings”. We have trained him to sing to the song “Happy Birthday”.

Boomer wears a bellyband when he has free reign of the house. He will mark if he knows he’s not being watched. He will need someone who can be patient and willing to continue to work with him concerning this issue.Boomer3

Boomer is great with everyone who comes to visit. He especially loves men and is very attached to his foster dad. He is well socialized and is happy to meet new people.

Boomer’s wish list:

  • Someone home most of the day. Single person, couple, or family with older respectful children. He does not do well with younger children.
  • Fenced in backyard for playing and potty breaks.
  • Can be in a house with other pets or is fine without other pets. His previous home had cats and he did very well with cats.
  • An owner who loves walking.
  • Someone who will continue to work with his marking issue.
  • Tons of belly rubs, scratches behind the ears, and snuggles.

Boomer is being fostered in MI
