Diego is a smart and affectionate two and a half year-old 15 pound black and white Havanese having beautiful markings and white points. Diego walks very well on leash and has quite a prance to his step! He enjoys romping with his foster dog brother and running into your arms when you squat down and call his name.
Diego loves his stuffed Kong and squeaky toys, and rubs his head on the carpet making a circle pattern around and around the carpet engaging in self-play. He asks to come up on the couch or bed to snuggle and to get some back and belly rubs.
Diego is moderately active, house-trained and is quiet until someone comes to the door, typical of the breed. If it’s his human returning home he jumps up and wags for hugs and attention, willingly giving kisses. A stranger coming into the house may give him some anxiety, but he has great focus on his foster parent who redirects his attention until he is calm.
Diego is very attentive to working on simple commands; he is treat motivated and really works at trying to learn what you are trying to teach him. A new family will need the patience and commitment to provide him with the continued training that Diego needs.
