Alicia is adjusting to life in a home with a family after spending her first 7 years in a puppymill. She's a very sweet dog who gets along with other dogs in her foster home. She's reserved and is slowly learning to accept petting from her foster mom. Alicia is a petite 8.5 pounds.
Alicia is working on house training. She's doing well overall, but still has occasional accidents. She will need someone who is proactive in getting her outside when she adjusts to her new home. She needs a positive approach and praise so she knows what you expect from her. Alicia enjoys being in the fenced backyard and a fenced yard is preferred for her forever home. Alicia has some experience walking on a leash but needs more practice with this. She does best when another dog is walking with her.
Alicia has a heart murmur and some arthritis in her backlegs. She appreciates the luxury of napping in a soft dog bed after playing a little bit with a squeaky dog toy. She likes carrying a doggie chew to the bed with her before she dozes off. Life is very different for her now that she's out of the puppy mill.
Alicia's wishlist includes a gentle adopter in a quiet adult home. She needs a patient and positive approach. Alicia would do best with a securely fenced backyard. Someone who is home to take her outside as she continues to work on her house training is important. Alicia would like another well-socialized dog in her new home. She follows the lead of other dogs as to what is expected of her.
Alicia is being fostered in IN.
