Needs a home with another small dog

Xia FrontLittle Xia looks like she’s ready for the runway in her adorable tuxedo. All she needs is a flashy bowtie!

Although Xia is still quite new to foster care, she has already become attached to her foster mom. She is comfortable with both men and women, but it is unknown how she will react to children. Xia is selective in which dogs she likes, so a meet and greet is advised before she is adopted into a home with another dog. We do not know how she will react to cats.

Xia is moderately active but she likes her walks. She’s working on her leash skills and loves practicing this skill. Xia’s work on house training is going well, but she’s not yet reliable. She’s also working on crate training.

In addition to taking walks, Xia likes to initiate a game of tug, bringing you a toy to start the game. She also enjoys running and jumping. She is her foster mom’s shadow, following her everywhere. She gives lots of kisses and is quite pleased when she gets a belly rub in return. Due to her separation anxiety, Xia would do best in a family where someone is home for much of the day. Ideally Xia's new family would also have another small dog to keep her feeling secure when her people do leave the house. This little one doesn't like to be alone!

If you are looking for a petite companion with a big personality, please ask about Xia. She may be the perfect companion for you.

XIA is being fostered in CA.

A fee will be requested to adopt this dog. The recommended fee amount will be based on the dog's age, and medical and behavioral issues, if any.  A completed application is required if you are interested in adoption. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!
