Patch is a one-and-a-half year old Havanese that suffered a ruptured eye as a puppy which resulted in the eye having to be removed. Her eye is completely healed and the vet has given her a clean bill of health! She will run into things at times, but having one eye doesn't stop her from running up & down the steps!
Patch is probably the sweetest, cuddliest dog ever. She will follow you around, loves to be held, but is also happy just being close. On one hand she's needy and so grateful for everything but the other side of her is very outgoing and sure of herself. She has been playing well with other dogs, and loves attention of any kind.
Patch has proven herself to be a quick learner, walks well on leash, is learning sit/wait and come, knows what a "cookie" is, she has made great strides in a short time. She's making phenomenal progress for such a short time and is very bright. "Come" is now a solid part of her vocabulary. And she continues to exhibit what a loving, trusting and calm dog she is!
She runs like a true Hav and plays well outside with the other dogs on their morning romp. Inside, she's content to play with her toys alone and pretty much stays apart from the other dogs; wherever her "person" is, Patch is there!She has adjusted to morning foot rinses and is really easy to bathe. She is getting better about being dried and will sit for a short while to be brushed but not long enough to get through her whole coat yet. She'll get there! Patch will be a wonderful addition to any home that wants a sweet, sweet little girl and has a lot of love and patience to give. She is not destructive at all and gladly accepts anything you give her.
She definitely seems more attached to women but she is good with men and children but just doesn't seek them out.
As long as people allow her to warm up at her own speed, she will take whatever love she can get. She never seems to get enough and will sit in your lap until you have to move.
She will be a perfect addition to the right family, one that can give her the undivided attention she deserves.
