Twister is just three years old, neutered, current on his vaccinations and weighs about 17 pounds. He is a delightful little guy who is re-living puppyhood as he gets used to spending more time indoors with his foster family.
He is initially a bit reserved, and we are still working on his housebreaking and basic commands like sit. He gets great pleasure out of emptying the toy baskets and making himself a lovely nest in a blanket. We're working on playing fetch, though right now he seems to prefer throwing the toys up in the air and pouncing on them.
He is crate trained, and will sleep through the night in his crate, but he does get somewhat agitated when he is crated when his family goes out. We're hoping that will improve when he realizes that he won't be in there for a long period of time.
He apparently has some seasonal allergies and recurring ear issues, so he will need antihistamines on an as needed basis and regular application of an ear cleaning solution.
Twister would like to have a family that is around a lot so he can hang out with them. We haven't seen him with children, so his preference would be only a family with older children (14 or older). Another dog would be fine, but he doesn't have to have one. He walks well on a leash and would be a great companion for someone who is willing to play with him and continue to work on his housebreaking and basic commands.
Twister is being fostered in North Carolina.
