quintsmheadQuint is a 2 year old Havanese weighing about 9 œ lbs and is a perfect example of the word cute.
One of the lucky ones in our world to be saved from a puppy mill, Quint is a frightened boy. Very loud noises and people scare him, so his foster mom is working very hard to show him that we can give a lot of loving and care, and he now has nothing to be afraid of. With time and patience he'll learn, but coming from an environment of steel cages, indifferent human contact at best, no toys, blankets or a warm lap, this is a whole new world.
He dearly loves to romp with his foster sister, and engages her in play until she tires and he is then very happy to play by himself.  He especially likes to bat ice cubes around the floor.  Toys are still a little strange and sometimes a tad scary, but he's starting to show interest in these and chewies as well.  He will now toss a toy around.
With encouragement from his foster mom Quint is slowly making progress with social skills and is looking forward to a brighter life with a quiet family of his own.
Quint simply loves to be outside.  Since he's probably never, ever had the opportunity to be on grass, he will happily lay in the grass under a tree as long as he can.

He eats and sleeps happily in his crate as this is where he has felt safe in the past. Quint doesn't bark or fuss in his crate either.
His foster mom is working on housebreaking as well.
Quint is still a little afraid and unsure when he's placed on a lap for short periods, but he seems to be gaining trust and will probably soon relish all the attention and kisses he can get.
Havanese are very resilient, and he will be no different.
He is making small positive steps, and his foster mom says she has seen improvement even in the short time Quint has been with her.
Quint is being fostered in MN
