MandySmFace2

This pretty little girl is Mandy, a Havanese rescued from a mill and one of the many miracle stories in rescue. At first she was very frightened and would run away whenever her foster mom would try to catch her. Now, she will come to her -- sometimes not all the way, but usually she comes when asked.

Mandy is a happy little girl and loves to go to the dog park and run and play with all the other dogs at the dog park; she is very comfortable with all dogs. She chases after her foster brothers, mimicking whatever they decide to do. If they pick up a stick to run and play, you'll find Mandy doing the same. She truly loves being in the yard and will play with abandon, running and chasing all the dogs.

Her tail is now up, and she's learned people can be wonderful and kind. She used to startle easily, but even that has improved. Her favorite perch is a high pillow on the couch with her family.

Mandy is a very sweet girl who watches her foster mom all the time. She readily takes treats from her foster mom’s hand and loves chew toys. She likes to follow her foster mom wherever she goes and if she's not around, Mandy enjoys following her foster dad. Her confidence has been growing day by day, but years in a mill have taken a while for her to learn that humans are wonderful people. She is still fearful of new things but is getting better at adjusting to them. With continued patience, love and kindness, she’ll only continue to improve. She’ll be an amazing companion for a very lucky family.

Mandy weighs 12 pounds, is white, and about six years old. She is pretty much housebroken and is learning to navigate going upMandyFeb9 and down steps. Mandy is so much more comfortable being groomed. Mandy loves to go everywhere and is getting very good at riding in the car and wears a harness attached to the seatbelt. Mandy loves to go on walks, and is very good on a leash.  She is crate trained but doesn’t particularly like the crate (too many years living her whole life in one). She eats her meals in a crate and sleeps in her own doggie bed.

Mandy is ready for her forever home. Her wish list requires that any children be older. She would enjoy another dog play with. Her new family needs to continue helping Mandy gain trust and confidence. She'll need lots of patience, love, and kindness, which she so deserves after many years confined in a crate.

Mandy is a sweet and loving little girl, and she'll reward a special family with lots of loving, kisses, and will want lots of ear scratches in return. Oh! And of course snuggle.

Mandy is being fostered in MN.
