BarbaraAnn-Dec2010-face

Barbara Ann is a 1 ½ year old Havanese with beautiful markings and coloring. She weighs about 17 pounds, and is the first one in her kennel at meal time! Because she was rescued from a puppy mill, Barbara Ann is learning all about life in the real world; that people truly are kind and loving, and that laps are a great place to lie when you’re sleepy. It will take time for her to build trust and confidence, but she has come a very long way.

Barbara Ann continues to gain confidence as time passes and is doing very well, but her new family will need to be patient and loving, helping her as she continues her journey. Barbara Ann would do well as an only child, and would make an excellent companion for a special lady wanting a dog to cuddle and love. She most definitely prefers females as she is shy around men.BarbaraAnn-Dec2010She likes her kennel and happily takes her treat at bedtime in her kennel. She loves her cooked chicken treats and has become very good at using the doggy door to go outside and potty.

Barbara Ann has become comfortable enough that toys are starting to interest her and she also loves to chew. One thing she really likes is running in her yard (weather permitting). Barbara Ann also loves to be petted and picked up and held.

BarbaraAnn-Dec2010-frontShe is keeping company with a small pack of Havs in her foster home and watching the interaction with their foster mom. Barbara Ann acts as if she wants to play but is a little timid. Her foster mom thinks it won’t be long though before she joins in with the group. Barbara Ann is not so much fearful as she is unsure of her surroundings but even so, Barbara Ann has come a very long way. The traits that make a Havanese so special are beginning to peek out, and with continued love and patience, she will become an amazing member of some lucky family.

Barbara Ann is being fostered in OH.
