Lola_Belle_Head

Lola Belle is an oh-so-lovable 3-1/2 year old Havanese princess. She is a puppy mill survivor and is thrilled to be discovering another world — a home full of love, comfort, toys, and treats. She is both sweet and shy, and her tail wag is the fastest you’ll ever see.

Lola_Belle_layingLola Belle has a soft silky white coat with light brown shading around her eyes and on her back. She is fit and trim, weighing in at 11 lbs. She is in great health and always in a good mood. Lola Belle is a curious girl who has sniffed every inch of her current backyard and loves to play RunLikeHeck with her foster sisters. She has recently discovered toys and throws them high in the air and shakes them vigorously when she catches them. All of the comical and quirky Havanese traits reside in this adorable little sugar-pie.

Lola Belle has made tremendous progress since moving from the puppy mill to her foster home in NC in October. She is gaining confidence daily and learning how to trust, although she is timid and fearful in new situations. She responds very well to praise and treats. She is a smart girl who knows how to do stairs and walk on a leash. She is making progress with her housetraining and loves to go outside to frolic in her fenced-in yard. She loves to be set on the couch, where she will snooze at your side indefinitely. She sleeps in a crate at night and is enormously grateful for every belly rub she receives, gazing back at you with complete adoration.

Lola Belle’s wish list in a forever home includes someone can give her the love and attention she craves. She needs someone who is home most of the time, will be patient with her, and is committed to continuing with her housetraining. So far, Lola Belle is much more comfortable with women than with men. She definitely needs at least one other small breed dog in the hoLolaBelle_faceme to help her “learn the ropes” of life outside the puppy mill. A fenced-in yard is important, as Lola Belle spends a lot of time outside sniffing and soaking up the sun. She would be best suited to a home with no small children. She is unsure about cats, as she has had no experience with them. Most important, Lola Belle needs someone with patience and understanding as she transitions from her puppy mill life.  She will return every ounce of love she receives — doubled!

Lola Belle is being fostered in NC.
