TimmyCoco in COspecialneedsiconWhat a precious face on this little boy. Timmy/Coco is the sweetest most delightful, handsome little boy. He is also one of the most intelligent little dogs his foster mom has ever seen. It appears this boy understands the English language. After hearing a command a couple of times, Timmy/Coco responds perfectly.

He's 3 yrs old and still has a lot of that puppy joy of being alive in him. He weighs in at 12 lbs, the perfect weight for him. Timmy/Coco was an owner surrender. Unfortunately, his elderly owneCocoCO3r was not able to care for him and made the decision to turn him over to HRI. He has learned that big boys go potty outside, his owner trained him to use a potty pad.

He has beautiful coloring, white coat with silver and grey throughout and dark grey ears. Since Timmy/Coco has been in foster care it was discovered that he had a torn cruciate ligament and he had to have surgery.  His name was changed following his surgery. It appeared he was not fond of his old name, so a new name was very carefully chosen. He loves his new name. He has also been diagnosed with a type of hemophilia, which makes him a Special Needs dog. Timmy/Coco will do best in a quiet home environment, possibly a retired person or a retired couple. He will do OK either in a home as the only pet or with one other quiet, non-threatening pet. He has made friends with his foster siblings and enjoys playing with them as much as he enjoys his toys. That is really saying a lot. Timmy/Coco loves those toys. He has his favorites lined up around his doggie bed so they will be close by. He  also does very well with the household kitty.

Timmy/Coco has made tremendous progress since he has been in foster care. Even his foster mom can't believe he is the same little dog that came into her life and then into her heart. He has developed some very cute traits in his new life. He must really like the smell of shampoo and/or conditioner. Every time his foster mom bends over Timmy/Coco runs over, stands up on his back legs and smells her hair. It's such a sweet thing to do, it's guaranteed to bring a smile to his foster mom's face whenever he does it.

Because Timmy/Coco is a Special Needs dog he has a rather definitive list of wants/needs

  •     A quiet home environment
  •     Someone who is home with him all day
  •     Because of the hemophilia Timmy/Coco has to be watched closely to guard against injury.
  •     Also because of the hemophilia any surgeries will have to be monitored closely due to internal bleeding. This includes teeth cleaning.
  •     Being the only pet is preferable; one other quiet, non-threatening small dog would be OK. His foster sisters are wonderful with him. His foster brother is a little too playful and too rowdy.
  •     Because of his past life, he also has some learned behaviors that are almost resolved, but will need some continued work.
  •     No children in the household or as frequent visitors to the household because of both the hemophilia and his past abuse/neglect
  •     A humom and/or hudad with a strong personality but also a very loving and gentle nature. Timmy/Coco needs lots of love, but he also needs someone who he can trust and respect.

Timmy/Coco is being fostered in CO.
