Two-year-old Dominic quickly charmed his foster mom after coming to rescue. The family has nicknamed Dominic, "Mr. Congeniality". This 19 pound Havanese likes every person and dog he meets. He's well-liked in return and gets along with everyone. He loves playing with his foster family and is great at the game of Fetch. He also loves a game where his family chases him. When not playing, Dominic is affectionate and loves snuggling with his family.
Dominic is house trained, leash trained and crate trained. He longs to be the focus of someone's attention and would be a great "best buddy" to his new owner. He gets along with other dogs, but would also be happy as an only dog if he had enough human attention. He'd do best if someone was home a lot of the time, but would also be a great dog to accompany someone to work. Dominic likes being close to a person but isn't clingy and will happily rest at your feet. He can become anxious when he's left alone, but is responding well to the work his foster mom is doing, leaving him for brief periods of time and returning again. He will need a family that will patiently help him through his adjustment to his new home.
His foster mom notes that Dominic is very eager to please and tries hard to figure out what someone wants him to do. He's very smart and learns quickly. She thinks he has the makings of a wonderful therapy dog and may work well with children practising their reading skills.
Dominic's favorite things are to go on walks or just hang out with his people. His wish list includes being someone's or a couple's best buddy, to be able to be with his person most of the time, and to find a forever home where his family thinks he's the most wonderful dog ever.
Dominic is being fostered in So. California.
