Baxter in WA headshotFosterToAdoptProgramIconTwo-year-old Baxter is new to our foster program. He's quickly settling in with his new foster family, however, and has proven himself to be 10 pounds of fun and energy when interacting with his canine foster siblings. He loves being part of a doggie family and will definitely need a canine companion once he's ready to be adopted.

Baxter is timid and somewhat fearful of loud noises and sudden movements. He's leery of people until he gets to know you. At that point, he's willing to approach you fairly confidently. Baxter In WA 2

Baxter briefly lived with two children, ages 8 and 11 years old with no reported problems. He is not currently in a home with children so his behavior with kids is unknown. He didn't get to spend much time with humans the first two years of his life, however, and is learning how to play with people. He sometimes nips when he plays and is mouthy. His foster family is working on this.

Baxter was only recently exposed to a leash and is slowly learning to walk on a leash. He is not crate trained. He likes to sleep in a dog bed in the bedroom. He very willingly shares that bed with the other dogs in the home. Baxter is working on his house training.

Baxter's favortite activities include playing with other dogs and playing with stuffed toys. He also gives an enthusiastic "paws up" for treats and the opportunity to run in the fenced backyard.

Baxter is being fostered in WA.

A donation will be requested to adopt this dog. The recommended donation amount will be based on the dog's age, and medical and behavioral issues, if any.  A completed application is required if you are interested in adoption. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!
