Oreo is a darling black and white 2-year-old Havanese. This 15 pound sweetheart is a little shy at first, but he warms up very quickly.
Oreo is good with cats as well as with other dogs. He loves attention from people even more though, and he’d be just fine as an only dog if he had enough time with his humans. He gets along with men and women and children over 12 years of age. He hasn’t been exposed to children under the age of 12.
Exploring the fenced backyard in his foster home or taking walks are his favorite things. He loves being outside! A real nature boy, he loves to look off in the distance beyond the backyard to the marsh where birds and small mammals live. After some time outside, Oreo thinks it’s great to snuggle up on the couch. He also loves dinner and happily runs into his crate when it’s time for bed.
Oreo is brushing up on his response to commands such as come, sit and stay. He’s a very smart little dog and he’s learning things quickly. Regular practice and reinforcement will be important in his adoptive home. He is house trained, leash trained and crate trained. He was adored by his original family who provided him with loving care. We understand how heartbreaking it was for them to have to give up this loving little Havanese. He will be a wonderful addition to the family lucky enough to adopt him.
