Five-year-old Skye is a happy Havanese mix. He has a beautiful curly grey coat. This big boy is on a diet and exercise program to help him maintain his current weight of 28 pounds, which is a good weight for him.

Skye has a lot of hobbies! He loves stuffed squeaky toys and happily plays with them on his own as well as fetching them if he can get a person to play with him.Skye in WI 1 He loves going on walks. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and loves to play with them as well. All in all, Skye specializes in play.

Skye is generously providing his foster dad with lots of practice in giving doggie massages. He thinks one of the best things is to lean up next to him on the sofa while he rubs his back, neck and legs. If he forgets what he’s supposed to be doing and gets distracted, he gently nudges his hand to help keep him on track.

Though he’s initially a little shy when meeting someone new, Skye quickly warms up to adult visitors and teenagers at his foster home. He soaks up human attention and likes being petted. With a reminder, he’s willing to wait for his turn if the other dog in the house is getting attention or lap time.

Skye is working on accepting handling of his feet and tolerating something going over his head such as a harness or collar. His foster dad is also working to help him accept being picked up and accept grooming with good manners.

Skye is very well house trained. He’s also crate trained. He is learning to walk on the leash without pulling and has made nice progress with this. Take a look at the video of Skye taking a walk with someone new so his foster dad could take the video!

Skye would love a forever home in an adult family or a family with teenagers where he can get daily walks (one of his favorite things!). He'd enjoy another canine playmate but will be fine on his own as long as his new people have time to spend with him. Skye especially enjoys time with his foster dad and would love it if he could have a dad of his very own in his new family. Ideally, his new family will be dog savvy and will continue working with Skye who's made a lot of progress during his time in foster care.

Skye is being fostered in FL.
