Daisy's Daisy0915HeadSurgery Update:

Daisy had a 6 1/2 hours surgery on Monday 9/21. There are 7 screws total and a plate in her leg. Nice and tight.  Plating it will stabilize it so the new bone can heal the fracture.  Her bone is now in good alignment. She has three months of healing and physical therapy ahead of her.

Daisy, Daisy, tell me your answer do; I’m half-crazy all for the love of you! People always sing that around me.Daisy resized

Daisy in ID after surgeryThey say I am sweet, affectionate, and joyful and that I make them happy. It makes me feel better, too, because I really am in a lot of pain. I had a traumatic injury to my femur and growth plate - which means I can’t use one leg. I need my surgery as soon as possible.

Once I have my leg put back and held in place with a plate and screws,  I will need time to heal. Then, I will need physical therapy, as my muscles have some atrophy.  After that, I will begin my journey back to my silly puppy antics. With surgery, post-op therapy, spaying, chipping, and getting up to date on my puppy vaccines, it’s going to be some time before I am ready to go to my forever home.

I’m eight months old, almost eight pounds, and sable colored. I am leash and crate trained - housebroken too! But my new foster mom carries me whenever I need to go.

I love all two- and four-legged critters. They play, don’t they? And toys, all kinds of toys.

Daisy is being fostered in Idaho.
