Alvinface

Alvin is "the complete package." He is cute, fun, energetic but also perfectly content to lie next to you for hours - sometimes just touching you, sometimes nudging you for some petting, or sometimes resting his chin on your lap and gazing at you.

This little chipmunk is a sturdy and quite beautiful apricot color boy with black tipping on his muzzle, ears and neck.Alvin01He is almost three years old, weighs in at about 23 pounds, and is a very muscular dog. He loves to run, leash free, so a fenced in yard is a must for his forever home. Alvin loves to play with other canines, especially those who will allow his "in your face" attitude.

Alvin's foster mom says he is sweet, lovable and playful. He is very exuberant, craves attention - especially in new situations -- and likes to be near a human every minute. His tail wags a lot and he seems very happy. He loves to play fetch and will bring the object back and give it back (most times).

He will do best in a home where he will receive a lot of exercise  --  brisk walks and/or a doggie playmate, either in-house or nearby, will do the trick. Alvin also needs to live with an experienced dog owner who can teach him about boundaries. Right now his foster mom is working on smoothing out some of his rough edges regarding manners.  She is teaching him sit, wait,Alvin3 and up with plans to progress to other commands. She thinks he would be a wonderful agility dog.

Alvin is house broken and sleeps soundly through the night, although he sometimes hogs the bed. He is a good eater and enjoys yogurt on his kibble.

Alvin needs to find a family without young children. Also, he initially did not do well with his foster family's cat, however there has been some slow improvement so it may be that in the future he will be able to co-exist peacefully with cats.

Alvin is being fostered in NJ.

A donation will be requested to adopt this dog. The recommended donation amount will be based on the dog's age, and medical and behavioral issues, if any.  A completed application is required if you are interested in adoption. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!
