Carlos is a Havanese-mix, and the vet estimates he is about 3 years old. He is an 18 pound bundle of boy who was found running the streets of East Orange, NJ in the rain! Carlos was taken in by a stranger and cleaned up before HRI took him under our wings
After a quick visit to the vet, he is all checked out and a healthy little one. He is happy go lucky and loves to greet you at the door when you come home. His tail is always wagging and Carlos loves his walks. He pulls a bit on the leash but is getting better with each day of practice.
Carlos is a little smarty pants, he had a marking problem when he first arrived in his foster home, but with the belly band on for a few days and staying on top of him, he gets the point that marking is not appropriate in the house. Carlos is house trained, eats well, and treats everything in the house with respect, for that he has earned free run of the house. He is through his puppy phase of chewing on everything possible, but still loves to play with toys and play chase in the backyard. We have been working on manners at the door, he knows the "back" and "stay" commands, that will keep him from darting out the door.
Carlos wants to be near his humans and he will follow you room to room to be with you. He will be a nice addition to a home and seems to settle in quickly. He is looking for a home where he can be the "king of the castle" as the only dog.
Carlos is being fostered in NJ.
