Introducing . . . Mika! Mika is a 3 year old, 12.5 pound princess. She came to HRI from a loving family that moved around a lot; she had become anxious and stressed with all the moves. She’s adjusting well to her foster mom and Havanese foster sister.
Her favorite activity is snuggling up to her foster mom or sitting on her lap. She is housetrained and will even ring a bell on the door to tell you she needs to go. She also knows obedience commands like “sit,” “down,” “stay,” “off,” and “in your bed.” Mika’s goal is to work on not barking at strangers. Though she warms up soon enough, she barks at people and dogs when on walks and when people visit the house. She needs a patient owner who will work with her to get more comfortable with other people. She will also need a stable home, where the owner does not travel too frequently or leave Mika alone or with a dogsitter for long periods of time. Mika is a smart cookie and good with children.
Mika's wish list is
* someone who is home most of the day or has a flexible schedule
* no other dogs
* children over 12 yrs. okay
Mika is being fostered in Washington, DC.
