Madison headshotMadison is 5 1/2 years old, a beautiful cream sable colored girl of medium size, weighing 13 lbs. She was gifted with an easy care coat that is not too thick, and has very expressive eyes that almost let you see into her little heart, which has broken several times in the past.... She is a kisser and likes to get right up in your face to look at you as she kisses your nose.

Madison4Madison loves to play with the her foster sister Bella - they jump, pounce and dance around each other until both are too exhausted to go on.  She is good with other dogs both on and off leash and is fine with the resident bird. She loves to go for walks and has a keen nose, often sniffing out something interesting that the other dogs miss! She is a bit fearful of grass and going outside without a leash but she's beginning to accept doing these things because it pleases her foster mom. She is great on car rides and seems to enjoy them.

Madison came to HRI with reddish staining on the legs, feet and behind, probably the result of licking from a flea allergy that was let go too long. BUT with a week of rx medicine, grooming, healthy food, and a stress free home - she's stopped itching and licking. The groomer says her hair is cream at the roots and she'll be back to her beautiful cream sable color in no time. She was tested for food sensitivities and has none, but her new family will need to monitor her for other potential allergies and continue with a healthy diet.

Madison1Madison is a very sweet girl, and it still takes some time to gain her trust. She is friendly and runs cheerfully to the door to greet visitors, but doesn't like to be reached for. She LOVES men, and is fine with women too. She loves Bully sticks and will chase & retrieve them, but hasn't learned to play with stuffed squeaky toys yet.

Madison so wants her own loving family where her heart can heal and she can blossom. She will do best in a STABLE home that can maintain a routine initially, and where someone is home most of the time and/or willing to take her along with them. Did we mention - she really likes men!!

Madison is being fostered in Southern California.
