Panda, or Pandanese as her foster family affectionately calls her, is a gorgeous 6 year old girl who came to HRI from a puppy mill. She's sweet and lovable but needs a little TLC before we’ll really see her true Havanese personality shine! After being rescued from being a breeding dog in a mill, a nice young woman was caring for Panda until she realized Panda would need more care than she could provide so she kindly surrendered her to HRI.
Panda has now had a dental and even though she lost most of her teeth, you'd never know watching her eat alongside her foster sister and brothers, running and jumping for treats, and while she plays tug with toys. TOYS??? This girl loves toys! She runs to fetch a thrown toy and hides it in the puppy playpen where she likes to nap. Soon she'll be spayed but in the mean time we're working on potty training and she's doing great! As long as we go out every few hours she doesn't have any accidents.
Panda has been shaved down for now but she's a lovely black and white color with a slight wave to her hair. Still shy, especially around men due to her history, she'll need a quiet home where someone is home most of the time and has the patience to work with her. The family that is lucky enough to bring this girl home will get lots of tail wagging and snuggles at nap time!
