My name is Oso Grande, which means "big bear," but I am actually a very handsome Havanese. I think it is a perfect name because I am colored like a bear and because I am a big boy, weighing in at 38 pounds (ssshhh, don't tell anyone because they will put me on a diet!).
I am the nicest pup you could ever hope to meet, and I firmly believe that there is no place more wonderful than sitting by your feet. I am good with other dogs and I absolutely love people. I think going for a ride in the car is pretty awesome too! I am also very good about going to my crate to sleep, and I have that potty training thing down solid, so no worries there.
When you come home I will greet you at the door with a howl of delight. I don't mind being left home alone with my fellow dogs, but I really don't like being left out of things when my foster mom and dad are home, so I make sure I let them know that I am still here with a good howl or two.
I’m a young-at-heart 10.5 years old, but the years have been a bit rough on my big old body. My joints aren't what they used to be, my thyroid is pooping out, and I have allergies. However, my foster mom says that as long as I take my medications twice a day, I am actually a pretty chipper old boy. My foster mom wants to make sure that you know that my medicines are really pretty cheap so that is good.
What I really want is a home with someone who is around a lot and maybe has another dog or two and someplace where I can get lots of love and belly rubs, because I sure have a lot of love to give back.
Read a touching letter from Oso's Foster Mom.
Oso Grande is being fostered in CA.
