Roxy is an 11-month-old petite girl, a bundle of 7.5 lbs of puppy energy! She loves to play – with toys, other dogs and her people. She is always ready for a game of chase, tug or retrieving a ball.
Roxy is clever and a quick learner, you can sometimes see the wheels turning in her head as she figures out how to get what she wants. She is highly food motivated and has been responding well to training. Roxy already knows her obedience manners and a few tricks, she is perfecting house training at the moment and is improving daily. She is wonderful on the leash and in her crate.
Roxy loves to snuggle up at the end of the day on the couch with her people or in a dog bed with her foster dog siblings. She is affectionate and once she accepts you into her pack she will lavish you with kisses.
Roxy has “springs in her back legs” and is able to jump really high! The couch or chairs are no problem for her petite self. She loves to be in the thick of things and this sprite that is nearly 1 year old has plenty of energy for full time play. She doesn’t show good judgment when jumping off high objects and she must be watched closely because her fearfulness and jumping habits are not good for her knees.
Roxy displays fear reactivity to strangers, but her Havanese foster brother and sister have been showing her that strangers are not so scary – especially when they give treats! She seems to calm quicker with a more confident doggie sibling around to show her the ropes.
Roxy’s perfect home will have a dog buddy to help her navigate the scary things in the world. She would thrive in a house with a fenced yard and an owner that will be around most of the time. She would love lots of playtime and daily walks to burn off some of that puppy energy.
