Bichion also known as Sean, is quite new to rescue so we are still learning more about him.
For his age, he's quite active. In fact, he is as active as the foster's 5 year old. He loves going for walks and keeps up very well, even going uphill. He shows no signs of his age except for some visual impairment and maybe slight hearing loss, he does come when called.
He is typical Havanese in that he wants to be near his people. He loves to cuddle on the couch if his people are there. He does want to go with you to every room.
He needs to be reminded not to mark in the house and tolerates the belly bands very well without peeing in them.
He is not fearful at all and has been friendly to everyone he's met, people as well as dogs.
He is vocal when he wants something but does not seem to alert bark at noises, yet. I know this comes with time in a home.
I believe he would only sleep on his owner's bed at night since he is not crate trained.
He may have some separation anxiety. He's had a lot of changes in the last 2 weeks so it's hard to say if this is a new behavior or something he had at his previous home. Sometimes anxiety comes with age.
He enjoys licking people and LickiMats help him relieve that need.
He has not been observed guarding his food or people. He's very food motivated so could probably still be trained to go to his spot or a crate with positive training methods.
He really is a delightful little dog.
Sean is being fostered in CA.
We will give a more thorough update on Sean once we get to know him better.
