Darling Kiki, five-years-old, is new to our foster program. She’s a happy and friendly ten-pound Havanese.
Kiki LOVES to play with toys. She entertains herself quite well and a well-stocked toy box is one of her favorite things. That’s saying a lot because this little gal also loves people and has perfected the art of sitting on a lap. She follows her foster family members all around the house and yard. She especially loves men and would love to have a daddy or human brother who can give her attention and lots of pets.
Kiki gets along with other dogs, but is more fond of people and would be just fine as an only dog if someone is home much of the time. It took her a while to warm up to her canine foster siblings mostly because she’d really like to have most of the attention from people whether they’re male or female, adults or kids. She’s a social butterfly. She enjoys playing with her hairy foster sibilngs.
Kiki is house-trained, crate-trained and loves to walk on a leash. She’s a good candidate as a therapy dog with her winning personality.
Kiki was diagnosed with a heart murmur. She is not taking any medication but her condition should be monitored by a vet. Kiki also has luxating patellas rated as 3/4. She has no mobility issues (you should see this girl run and play!) and shows no signs of discomfort. The only course of action is to keep an eye on things and to be sure she doesn’t become overweight.
Kiki is on a limited ingredient diet including treats, which can be purchased at most pet stores as well as online stores such as chewy.com This diet is critical as it helped her clear up eye and ear infections that she was suffering from when she came to HRI. She really loves this food and treats.
If you’re looking for a happy, friendly and playful little dog, Kiki may be just right for you. Someone is certainly going to be fortunate to add this sweet girl to their family.
Kiki is currently being fostered in Pennsylvania.
