Meet Minerva (Minnie), a 4 year old 10lb adorable girl rescued from a puppy mill and on her way to a new start in life. Minnie definitely has no problem with her appetite and eats like it’s her last meal on earth, enjoying every morsel with gusto.
She loves to play outside and investigates her surroundings with curiosity. Noises sometimes frighten her but as she hears new sounds and gets used to life and freedom outside the confines of her past life in a cage, she’ll become more comfortable.
Minnie loves chewing on rawhides and knuckle bones, and her favorite toy is an unstuffed squirrel that she shakes with everything she has!
She is still afraid to be approached by people, and hands frighten her (in her past life like other mill dogs, many times the ‘hand’ was not always pleasant). In time as she learns to trust and becomes comfortable with people, she’ll come to relish kindness and love.
Minnie though has become a big snuggler, and loves to sit with you and be with people all the time (true to the Havanese nature!). It would be good for her to be in a home with another dog as well. She’s also good with cats and teenagers, and doesn’t seem afraid of men.
Minerva is going to make a wonderful snuggle-bug and companion for some lucky family. With time and patience, all her dreams will come true and she’ll get that perfect home.
