Havanese Forum Four Seasons Quilt, Dedicated to Dorothy Goodale

The 2008 Havanese Rescue Inc quilt is titled "Havs Make My World Go Round."

This quilt is dedicated to Susan A. Nelson (1944-2007). Sue was a true pioneer in the Havanese world and participated in many aspects of dog sports with her dogs. She also gave her time and knowledge unselfishly to many newcomers to the dog world. She is missed by many.

Below are photos of the individual squares comprising this quilt. It was pieced by Nancy Holmes.

This incredible quilt was made by members of the Havanese Forum.

And generously donated to Havanese Rescue Inc! It measures approximately 66" x 78"

Our beautiful wall hanging was made for HRI by Pat Limburg, a supporter of Havanese Rescue. The wall hanging, also based on the Carousel Havanese Theme, is called Havanese Delight.

The quilting on this wall hanging is a special technique that repeats the outline of the Havanese in each block. The ripple effect of this work reminds us of the ripple effect we have on the lives of the dogs that come to us in rescue. A loving touch, patience to help a dog learn how to become part of a family or discover the joy in life and the comfort of laps can do much to change the world, one Havanese at a time. This quilt is dedicated to Rosalie Leone, one of our volunteers who touched the lives of numerous Havanese in foster care. She is very much missed, but the love she shared with others continues to ripple in the world.

Gardening nourishes the soul as well as the body. Many of us find that whenever we're in our gardens, we're accompanied by our hairy helpers, our Havanese. The 2007 HRI quilt was created with this theme in mind. "The Garden Helpers Quilt" is pictured below. From the picket fence surrounding the beautifully creative blocks, this quilt was a favorite of many.

The third 2007 quilt, made for the Havanese Club of America...

The quilt completed in 2007 for the Havanese Fanciers of Canada.

Changing lives ... one Havanese at a time.
