Prior Year Quilts

This quilt was inspired by Andy Warhol and his modern pop art movement in the visual arts. We all love the bright colors and fun of pop art and who doesnt have a bright havanese full of fun and charm coloring our world? A modern simplistic design show cases each block as if hanging in an art gallery.

This quilt was inspired by the colorful fabrics that were used to depict each month of the year. We loved the idea of using the bright colors and holidays as a theme for the 2018 quilt. The four seasons add another element to the quilt design. What Havanese does not enjoy the holidays with their families? We hope that you will enjoy our fun quilt.

The 2017 Havanese Rescue Quilt Project quilt is called “The Secret Lives of Havis” quilt. The quilt was inspired by the fact that the HCA Specialty Show is to be held in Asheville North Carolina. We decided to go with a fun theme with fall colors or this year’s quilt. Fabrics were chosen from Moda’s collection called “Grunge Collection”. The quilt colors and design are fun and lively as well as dynamic and classy. The quilt measures 60 inches by 78 inches.
Enjoy our fun, silly theme. Be Happy and enjoy our quilt and video that is made for you!

Cheers to those who have supported our group through time, talent, organization, advertising, ticket sales and financial support!

This gorgeous quilt proudly proclaims, "Forever Home" in a banner across the top of a home, happily inhabited by 32 Havanese! The whimsical depiction of these Havanese is sure to bring a smile to your face.

This is HRI's 10 year anniversary. Since we were founded in 2004, more than 875 Havanese have found forever homes thanks to the hard work of our volunteers. Forever Home is a tribute to all that rescue stands for. The person who wins this gorgeous quilt will be very lucky indeed!

Forever Home was designed by Michelle Burke with the idea that Havanese would be depicted throughout the house making themselves....well....at home! Cheryl Grant was instrumental in choosing fabrics and creating the garden background for the house. She evaluated the blocks and created a house that would logically flow and look like an actual house right down to the garden and driveway.

The Forever Home quilt is 53" wide by 57" tall. You may bid on the quilt during the Annual Auction beginning Saturday, November 8, 2014.

Butterfly Kisses Quilt

This beautiful quilt, lovingly created by the Havanese Quilters Group, depicts beautiful Havanese enjoying the company of butterflies. The wonderful idea came from Leeann Karlson. It was put up to vote within the group and was the winner this time! It was nicknamed “Butterfly Kisses” and it stuck! The group loved the idea of the freedom the butterfly represents and they loved the outdoor/flowery type theme/colors this motif would generate. A video of the quilt, set to music, can be seen here.

This quilt is a very happy quilt with 3D butterflies adorning the sashing. The quilt measures 50 1/2" x 62"
